The Austrian Government has ordered that when serious accidents shall occur on any part of the railways belonging to the State, a daguerreotype shall be taken of the train, in order to facilitate the investigation into the causes of the accident. For this purpose, the daguerreotype apparatus is to to sent to all the stations. This system has already been adopted in Prussia with marked advantage.
