Re-enactment of the Pearl Bryan murder, Fort Thomas, Kentucky

Photograph
The Indiana Album Inc.
Re-enactment at the site of the murder and decapitation of Pearl Bryan 1896. Bryan (circa 1874-1896), a young pregnant woman from Greencastle, Indiana, was found headless in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Her head was never found, but she was eventually identified by her shoes that bore a label from a Greencastle shoe store. Her boyfriend and an accomplice were hanged for the murder.

One web site identifies this as a crime scene photo of Pearl after she had been moved by the coroner, but the neck indicates that this was a reenactment.
