Albany, Georgia. The first sit-in arrests Lyon sees and photographs are those of Eddie Brown, a former Albany gang leaderÂ… who volunteered to be arrested for the photographs. The picture of Eddie Brown, calmly being carried off by the Albany police, is widely distributed as the image of the classic non-violent arrest.

This photograph was included in the exhibition "Danny Lyon: Memories of the Southern Civil Rights Movement" (Etherton Gallery, February 4 - March 15, 2014)
