Ambrotype, 1/6 plate Private collection of Jules Martino This ambrotype is worthy of deeper examination. She is holding a photograph but what was her relationship with the person portrayed? Her belt is unusual as is the pocket watch around her waist. It was considered bad luck to wear the items of the departed and so we can only guess at the story behind this image.
