Curatorial description (Metropolitan Museum, Accessed: 6 April 2015)

For this study of a village temple (covil), Tripe focused on the tall posts and crossbeam of a swing, with a small shrine and outbuildings beyond. During certain festivals, bejeweled deities were gently rocked on such swings.
