Photograph of the Golden Temple, Amritsar. The temple has a central dome and four smaller domes. It sits right at the edge of the water and there is a small tower to the right.

This is one of a series of photographs from a published volume documenting the tour the Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII, made of India in 1875-76. Included in the volume are a number of photographs of notable sites in the cities visited by the Prince. This temple, formally known as the Harmandir Sahib, is one of the holiest sites in the Sikh faith.
