French artist from Amiens in France who was in Rome in 1860-1863 and again in 1870. He collected photographs by Italian photographers such as Carlo Baldassare Simelli (1811-77), A(driano?) de Bonis and Giacomo Caneva (1813-65). His own photographs drew upon their styles and was used as studies for his oil paintings.
