His collection is held by the Institut für Angewandte Photophysik - Institute of Applied Photophysics (Dresden).
 
The collection includes a series of 141 didactic panels in German created by Krone containing 1,100 photographs which outline the history of photography upto 1896. This is a little known collection of great significance.
