Boston dentist and amateur daguerreotypist active from April 1840 through October 1843. He also created one photomicrograph daguerreotype in 1854 (not extant). All extant images are "views" - scenic images. About half were taken in Bemis‘s beloved White Mountains in New Hampshire, where he was most active. No known portraiture exists. All but one view are horizontal in format and all are laterally reversed.
