The photographer Louis Moberly wrote a description (ink manuscript caption verso) of this exceptionally scarce view showing the interior of his photograph gallery in McKinney: 'Looking Through Public Reception Rooms with Operating Room.' Framed images are on display in the reception room, and two stereoscopes and a box of 3-D viewing (stereographs) are visible on a table. A large camera can be seen in the 'operating room' that is visible through the doorway. This is the earliest known photograph showing the interior of a 19th century Texas photograph gallery.
